Mason's last day of preschool

Today was Mason's last day of 3 year old preschool.  We are going to miss Ms. Robyne and Ms. Lori so much and all those sweet little 3 year olds.  They had birthday celebrations today for all summer birthdays complete with cupcakes and ice cream, a moon bounce, pinata, goodie bags, birthday balloons and a decorated crown.  It was an over the top day.  Although I must admit how tough Tuesdays and Thursdays have been since January with a baby in the car for a total of 3 hours with commuting both boys in opposite directions, I will miss it very much.  So will Mason.  There is something so comforting about dropping your wee one off at church, in a Christian environment where they pray at snack and lunch time and talk about Jesus.  The best.  It was great for Mason to learn how to behave in a group setting, listen to teachers and follow directions and learn numbers/letters and even how to write his name.  He loved all the crafts too and the playground.  Snack friend and show and tell days and pizza days were special too.  When I arrived to pick him up today, he was wrapping with a humungous piece of tape his present for Father's Day.  Ms.  Lori said he did not want any help and just wanted to wrap all by himself.  That is Mason.  Independence and loves to wrap.  I was able to get a few pictures of M with his teahers and all the children doting over Regan once again.  When we left Ms. Lori said, "We will miss Mason so much.  He is so special inside and out and sweet."  I thanked them and asked how social he was in school.  They said he was very social and the perfect well rounded child.  He was great at socializing, working with others, independently and even his little temper she witnessed was funny and just Mason.  They said he is such a kind hearted/sweet child and will be missed greatly.  I left there so proud of my 3 year old buddy and could not believe how time has moved so suddenly.  Off to Montessori everyday for my 4 year old in the fall.  Crazy, excited but sad to see him go everyday.  He is my buddy and Regan's too. Change is hard and change is good.

Regan is one.

And she is still crawling! I love it because I feel like she is still my baby and not quite a toddler. We had a wonderful party for her with all of the family. Pizza, cake and ice cream. River made her very own slice and decorated it with an "R". He was so proud. I made her a #1 cake with poco dots. She was quite the princess the day of her party in her new purple sweater, head band and skirt riding her princess tot rod from Poppa and Gaga. She also received books, bathing suits, baby dolls and other assessories. I will never forget Logan putting up the decorations. Plastic table cloths from the dollar store hung from the ceiling with bunches of balloons. Too cute! When we lit the candle and started singing, Regan smiled her usual HUGE smile that lights her eyes up. She is our smiley, happy, strong willed, loving "Regan Jeans." God completed our family on 3/24/11. She is back to waking at 4 and 5 am for a bottle and then asleep again till 7-8am. She started sleeping till 6/7 in the morning at 9.5 months but has yet to do that consistently past 1 week. Her teeth have really been coming in and bothering her. 4 are trying to poke through at the same time up top and she has 2 on the bottom. Her "chinese" language continues to be absolutely halarious along with all over her noised she makes with her tongue. Mama and Dada and Hi are her favorite words. She gets into everything, eats anything we are having, and is now yelling to get what she wants when she wants it even from her brothers. She does not like the car seat at all. She loves to be outside, crawl in the grass and on the trampoline and in her Daddy's arms! We are so in love with her and are humbled to be her parents. God is so good!

Is that pee in the closet?

So it has been awhile and I must post about many milestones over the last few months sometime such as Mason giving up his binki back in November and his first visit to the dentist, Regan pulling up and standing on her own, River reading books, River deciding to play soccer this spring, Mason starting preschool, and so on. But for now, I must share a story before I forget so that one day we can look back and have a great laugh again.

After church and our usual Pine Grove brunch, we headed home. Logan and I began to work on the house. I was upstairs collecting the trash and asked Mason to get the trash out of our bathroom for me. As I continued to his room and began to change the sheets on his bed, I was so proud of him b/c he brought the trash to me after me only asking 1 time and w/o getting distracted. Pretty good for 3 years old, right? Then Logan went to change his clothes and stepped into our closet. He then asks me, What is this wet spot on our closet floor?" Immediately we both thought it was pee and we also both said Mason's name out loud but could not believe it either. He has been potty trained for 1 year, he and his brother were not goofing off. He was alone going to get the trash out of our bathroom. What would make him stop to pee in our closet? So Logan and I looked at eachother and I said, "wait...let me handle this one." I very nicely asked Mason to come here. I said to him, "Daddy and I were just in our closet and we noticed this wet spot on the floor. Do you have any idea what happened here?" M-I'm sorry Mommy, I got thirsty and spilled some water when I got a drink. Me-Really, where is the cup? M-In the sink downstairs. Me-What color is the cup? M-Green Me-You know what Mason, I really do not think this is water. It looks like pee. M-(with a sad, convicted face) Ok Mommy. It is pee. I peed on the floor. Me-Thank you for telling me the truth. That is the right thing to do. Then we talked about lying, honesty, etc. I told him that was discusting and you do not ever pee in our house except for in the pottys. He apologized, got his bottom spanked and then sat with me while I cleaned it up. As we were cleaning it up, I asked him to please tell me why he would pee in the closet when he was already in our bathroom getting the trash. I knew what he would say. "Because your potty is dirty." It was so hard to keep from laughing (L and I) b/c we are very bad about keeping our master bath clean. It just seems to be the last one we get too these days. It was just too "dirty" for Mason's pee. Ha! He will always keep us on our toes!!

Slow Down Regan!

Ahhhhh! My baby pulled up on her own today from a laying down position to standing. I was really hoping my last one would wait until after her first birthday for these shenanigans. It was so cute because I was working in the kitchen and both boys were right next to her and started yelling.."Mommy, look at Regan..she is standing up all by herself. She pulled up onto the train bin all by herself!" They were so excited. It was like they could not believe their sister was actually in a vertical position b/c she is always in a horizontal one. Regan is 8.5 months. Started army crawling at 7 months. She is our first army crawler and very fast. She loves cords, paper, or anything small that she can put into her mouth. It is comical how long it takes me to complete one task b/c she is on the move. She loves to find Doah's water bowl too. The boys compete (b/c everything is a competition with boys) to see who can get her to laugh the hardest. She will play for a small amount of time in the pack and play as long as she is near her brothers and she has their entertainment. Regan is still such a happy baby who LOVES to smile. One thing that lights my heart is her love for her Daddy. It is amazing. As soon as he walks in the door, she starts swinging her arms, kicking her legs and shaking her head with a huge grin from ear to ear. Then she reaches for him and puts her head on his chest. She does not do that with me. It is like she is telling Logan, "I have missed you so much and love you." She loves to say "Dada and Mama." All our kids said Mama first I think. For about a month, she has been on a 2 nap schedule which is great but confines you to be home most days beside taking River to and from school. She is flexible, enjoys the carseat most days and still has a gummy smile! I think I will be sad when her smile shows teeth! Regan, you bring us so much joy...ALL of us! ox
